A Prayer of Thanksgiving: For the Waves

Today I begin a class on the Trinity. As such, this prayer from a few days ago, seems apt:

Dear Lord,
The waves. I’m watching them from a window right now. It’s cold out and windy. And yet they push into the shore, closing in on themselves and on the sand- curling, licking their way back into the ocean. So powerful. So inviting. So peaceful.

Is this a picture of you, oh Triune God? Have you given us the waves to better understand the power and love that exists between your three persons?

God, do not let us accept a view of you that is any less mysterious than the waves. And thank you for reaching, crashing, pulling and enclosing us into yourself.
