This week I want to share with you Chicago songwriter Andrew Belle. Belle just released his sophomore album and his first was a favorite of mine right after graduating college. In fact, one of my (few and oh-so-miniscule) claims to fame is that while in college myself and a musically inclined friend played the opening set in a local coffee shop for a band which, just a few months later, opened for Mr. Belle. If you can follow those connections I’m sure you’ll be terribly (un)impressed.
Anyways, even without the connection I’ve always been a fan of Belle’s melodious and original sound as well as his ability to string together honest lyrics in a fashion that expresses relationships in a much more cheery and optimistic tone than the average hipster songwriting.
