Friday Playlist: A Hallelujah Christmas

My roommate has the oh-so-wonderful tendency to distract me from studying with SNL skits and Youtube phenomenons. Most of them accomplish little purpose beyond killing brain cells. But this past week he actually redeemed himself by showing the following clip.

It’s a Christmas cover of “Hallelujah”, the infamous song by Leonard Cohen that I’m sure you’ve heard covered in college bars, by indie bands and at pop concert encores a billion times over, though we can all agree it never gets old (#bestsongever). It’s covered by Cloverton, a band I’d never heard of before though I may have to look into after hearing this song. It is beautiful, joyous, melodic, climactic… in a word: it is Christmas. But don’t take my word for it, see for yourself:

Also, all things considered, my roommate is pretty awesome.

Happy Friday!
