Memorial

Dark city of lights, come to me

Dark city of oh so bright lights, let me be

Bridges of steel carry men of meat

And rooftops kiss the sky

Tiny crying children toddle to their mothers

With tragic stories of toys and glory

They fiercely accuse each other

Mother Theresa greets Mona Lisa

And they share a knowing smile

And a simple pen stroke paints a mile

And we dance

And we sing

We know no one is listening

We dream

And we cry

We live and we die

Surrounded by candles and a fire

The dancers start to sing and the music inspires

You find a tambourine, and I find a guitar

We write a song about a star

And we dance

And we sing

We know no one is listening

We dream

And we cry

We live and we die

  1. Dear Bryn,

Thank you for posting our son, Alex’s song, “Song About A Star,” on your August 8, 2011 blog. Did you know him ? You have blessed all who love him by posting this song of his. 🙂

May the Lord bless you and keep you as you serve Him with pen and paddle in hand,
    Blanche Heidengren (Alex’s mom)
